Why do certain keys sporadically stop working in Windows 11?

I have a very unusual problem occurring on my work laptop. Probably about 1-2 times during the workday, my delete key will stop working while in Microsoft outlook. In other words, when I click the delete key to delete an email, nothing happens. I've noticed strange behavior in other apps as well, once this behavior starts happening. For example, in Notepad++, if I do Ctrl + F to search for something, it doesn't work but it looks like it's trying to put out an invisible control character into whatever file I happen to be in.
