How to prevent specific keys (like media control keys) from waking monitors on Linux?
Often, I'll have my computer on while doing something offline-y at my desk. The computer plays some music and maybe once in a while I actually use the computer. While doing whatever, the computer idles and at some point disables the monitors to save power. The music plays on and at some point I hear a song I don't like right now and I skip it. Or maybe a cool song I really dig and I turn it up. The media-keys on my keyboard are super-convenient for this. They do, however, wake the monitors from standby. This wastes power a bit of power but worse it may also burn my eyes after they've gotten us
