Xilinx ISE virtual machine setup

I'm not sure this is on-topic , but since I'm talking about rather old software and most of the related resources are gone, I can only hope for people's memories. I need to set up a Linux VM to run Xilinx ISE 14.7 : the host machine is Windows 11 Pro, and I'm using Oracle VirtualBox. I've been suggested to use a pretty old Ubuntu release (14.04 LTS). I installed it from scratch, added Guest Additions (with some display problems still to fix BTW), and installed the Xilinx ISE 14.7. The installer completes but reports an error in installing Cable Drivers . This's the error reported in install.lo
