How can I print a simple Excel table in graycale?

I am using Excel 16.98 (2025). How do I print a simple excel table in grayscale? Printer (Kyocera) prints from other apps in grayscale just fine, but Excel refuses to print grayscale. It prints in black and converts the gray to blue. If I choose black and white, ... yeah, literally black and white -- no gray fill. Seems like this has been an issue for over 20 years, so I'm not hopeful there's an answer, but willing to try one more thing.
