Can't connect bluetooth devices to VoiceMeeter (Failed to Open Main Output Device | 0x88890008)

Everytime I try to use any bluetooth headphone together with VoiceMeeter I get an error message right after selecting the device: Output Device not Working... Failed to Open Main Output Device (A1) Device not ready or used by another process. Select A1 Output Device first! Keep default settings (default buffer size).
