Laptop battery suddenly goes from 0 to 100 and vice versa

My lenovo(ideapad 510) laptop's battery behaves strange. It is a new battery. The battery level was 100% when i unplugged the adapter. Shortly the laptop was closed suddenly and didn't work without adapter. So i plugged adapter and turned on the laptop. The system was opened but battery level indicator showed 0%. When the level reached 6%(in 30 minutes which is strange and it was saying 10 hours to be full) i unplugged the adapter, laptop didn't shutdown. I closed the laptop with a normal way. When i restarted the laptop again without the adapter(not plugged-in), the battery level was %98 perc
