My HP Laptop shows light on the charging port but it's not charging the battery

So my HP laptop keeps showing orange light on the charging port but it doesn't charge the battery. I was using my laptop regularly before, but yesterday I didn't use it at all. I was busy doing another thing. Then today I turned on my laptop and saw I still got like 50% battery percentage on it so I was using it until it shows the battery is running down, then I decided to plug it in, I was thinking it's charging since the charging port shows orange light until it keeps showing the the battery is running low The I check the system, I discovered that it doesn't indicate charging on the system S
